Flood & Coast 2016 launch YouTube Challenge

Calling all students enrolled in subjects relating to Flood Risk and Coastal Management (FCRM), and to young professionals who have been working in this area for no more than three years.

Produce a creative, relevant and interesting video and you could be a star of the screen at Flood & Coast 2016, taking place in Telford from 23-25 February next year.

Flood & Coast’s YouTube challenge is inviting videos illustrating any aspects of Risk, Resilience and Response primarily relating to one of the main event themes:

  • Infrastructure
  • Community Resilience/People and Property
  • Changing Climate.

This is a perfect opportunity to get noticed by the visitors, speakers and exhibitors at the event who will include representatives the Environment Agency, local authorities, engineering consulting companies, infrastructure owners, businesses and community groups.

There will be one winning video in each theme, and the winning entries will be shown on the event website and on screens at the event in Telford. Each category winner will be invited to travel to the event for one day and capture aspects of the event on video. Travel and subsistence will be paid for by the organisers.

Entrants must script, shoot and edit their video, which should be between 1:30 and 2:30 minutes. Entries must be uploaded to YouTube, with a link sent to the event organisers.

The deadline for entries is Sunday 31 January 2016, and winners will be notified by Friday 5 February 2016. Full details can be found at www.floodandcoast.com
